RE: Exercising - not a blog
Dear diary.
Today I made four and a half pushups.
That's about half of what I did a week ago.
I can almost do correct ones, but my retardation is hampering my progress.
My belly is still touching my legs when I sit down.
I will have to change my name to Cranky Old Fatty soon.
Last month my girlfriend left me for a younger guy with more muscles.
She says the sex is great.

She says the sex is great. I'm not sure if that's about you, taking the piss out of me, or just trying to be humorous o.o
Either way, 4 and a half is terrible, I can do fifty. ...Pretty sure he was joking.

RE: Exercising - not a blog
Don't overdo the exercising. Because you do in fact "damage" your muscle, or more precise, you tear them down so that they can be rebuilt again, stronger than before. So what most people do, is they pushh themselves too hard in the beginning and then they injure themselves. Take it easy, warm-up, gradually add weight and warm-off. I have a friend who exercise a lot and we talk some abouth this stuff and he's taught me a great deal about muscles and how they actually react to exercise.

I don't think I could ever do 50 pushups in my life. Not in a row, anyway.

Bruce Lee Wrote:A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at. I'm trying as hard as I want to, and I guess that that's hard enough for me. Execise is hard work, and sometimes I'd just rather watch Doctor Who and eat lots of chocolate instead.

RE: Exercising - not a blog
I go to the gym sporadically. Started out when I was 16 - trained for about two years. Then took a break for about 3,5 years. Started again a little more than half a year ago. Training is nice. Ultimately it's not a matter of doing it for the results, but doing it for the enjoyment.
Here's a comparison of what I started with and where I am today:
I'd recommend you to save some images of yourself, it might be fun to look at in the future!

RE: Exercising - not a blog
Used to be I could do 100 pushups in a row (when I was hardcore into gymnastics). No idea how I managed that when I was 8, now I can't do more than 20-25 at 19.
EDIT: Btw, Robosprog, if you want killer legs and biceps I recommend giving climbing a try (bouldering is easy to get into). Difficult as hell but the pay off is unbelievable, especially considering the fact that you don't really need to do any actual work if you do it for the enjoyment like me.

I believe it's because at 8 you're so light push ups are easy, I could when I was doing Karate, Swimming and Tag Rugby when I was 9 do about 60-80 pushups before I got bored. I could probably have reached 110 at a push. I guess so, but as you grow so do your muscles.
