Well, good survival horror games.

Bioshock isn't scary for crap.
Doom 3 resembles penumbra entirely, heck, they use much of the same general technology (shaders, stencil shadowing, etc.)

oh and Id announced doom 4! More technology!
And doom 3 engine will be GPL yay!

One game that stands as the scariest:
F.E.A.R
First Encounter Assault Recon

I like horror games but not the ones that give u nightmares :P
But i like the ones that give you an urge to open every door and drawer that you see for a month :D

Omg, that reminds me! There's a F.E.A.R. 2 coming out! I can't wait, it's going to be awsome! I was gonna make a thread about it on here, but I guess I forgot to.

Well, I'm not sure that is it really a 'horror' game but I'm really waiting for Alan Wake to be released!

Graphics are sooo good looking!
Just look at the screenshots and videos of it and you'll love it (click the link above)! Smile

Wow, really nice. I have only heard of the game, but never seen it. Thanks for the link Scraper. Smile

As for FEAR, I don't like it. It was more action than horror and that is a big nono in my eyes and how I expect a horror game to be.

Yes, that's the point. Wink

I just hope that they don't cancel the progress!

They're not making it too long, they're making it as good as it's possible to do. Developers of the game have said that they want to give to the fans only the best. Smile

Ah, I remembered correctly, there was some sort of Thread about Alan Wake! (Anyway, seems that it's closed now...)
