Attaching a ight source to a hand object

So I've recently been into custom lantern stuff. I came to the point where the entity itself worked just fine with the light source but the hand object itself gave me some headaches.

It seems like the light just does not want to stick to the lantern. So instead of attaching the light to the hand object (so that the light that gets projected swings when the lantern does) it just gets attached to the point relative to the camera (i.e. the light moves when i move the mouse but it does not react to physics like the up and down swing of the lantern)

Is it possible that this does not work? Hope i made myself clear enough so that everybody gets my problem.
