Do you honestly think there are any regulars on this forum that would be that dumb, and immature, and intolerant? (Excluding Danny/Cranky, since they exist only to piss others off) Here's an example of an idea that would work flawlessly;

I think the fact that we had to make a thread specifically for ponies so the rest of the forum wouldn't be consumed by them would be enough proof to say that, yeah, it does bother regular members. After you posted that gif within a few hours a regular member had responded to you saying that they didn't approve of you posting ponies outside of the pony thread in fact.

Also, there's a huge difference between posting about homosexuality or religion and ponies. Granted they both lead to mindless-rage-induced-keyboard-face-smashing™, but homosexuality and religion are both controversial subjects in society and are actually issues that matter. You could have a legitimate debate about those two issues (as it's been shown multiple times on this forum). On the other had though, the only sort of argument that could be brought up by posting ponies is something along the lines of "god MLP is so fucking stupid and gay and for 7 year old girls" "no it's the best show ever you just never gave it a shot love and friendship" "no fuck you" etc. etc.

Actually, The Brony Following is the greatest social movement spawned from the internet (save perhaps for Anonymous), as it contradicts many of the dominant behavioral conducts with male and female gender guidelines. If a male is introduced to the show and they enjoy it, then following the shows addictive and immersive nature it can become constricting to hide these feelings. I hypothesize that this is because they have just treaded over (for the first time) their Gender Barriers, and might now freely express and enjoy all that pent-up, feelzy shit from the past howzevers long.

If they tell any of their peers, it's entirely likely that they will hate and shun them. Does that sound fucking familiar!? Just because it may not be on the same EXACT level as sexism or bigotry, it is awful close. I doubt you'll take me seriously though, and it is entirely likely that you shall do so for no other reason than because it started with a TV show. SHIT's GOTTA START SOMEWHERE!!

No, I understand your point, but my point was that those other two issues have more affect on society past the fear of social rejection. Bronies aren't being stripped of any of their rights for liking a TV show, politics aren't going to be swayed one way or the other because of MLP, etc. And again, even in the situation you presented, the extent an argument in that situation could go would be about "god MLP is so fucking stupid and gay and for 7 year old girls" "no it's the best show ever you just never gave it a shot love and friendship" "no fuck you". Maybe if for some odd, fucked up reason bronies will get stripped of their rights in the future, but until then don't try to make that comparison.
