Well, for example when ATI users had problems with the game bought through Steam, Thomas was ready to himself a card that mostly people had to see what the problem is and then make patch with it.

That's just technical support for the game. It's not personal, they just do their job.

I actually bought the games without playing them beforehand in any way (very rare for me) as they were so cheap on Steam (5€). And now I bought them for Linux! (also very cheap Big GrinSmile

So the Penumbra Collection will not be on (re)sale on Steam this weekend? (I hate myself for not buying it when it was offered as a weekend deal) Would it be possible to buy it from GamersGate and then activate the copy on Steam? I'm already using Steam as my digital game distribution system so I would prefer not to register for another service...

Hi,

Just a request for a clarification please, does the "Penumbra Collection for Mac & Linux" run on both systems, meaning I just need to buy it once for both, or if I want to run on Mac and Linux I need to buy one Mac and one Linux version?

Thanks,
Jose

What sort of DRM is present on the Linux version of the trilogy? Specifically, is Internet access required for installation or play?

Probably just a cdcheck like the rest of the penumbras are.
Hopefully luxtenebras though doesn't have that cdcheck - such a pain getting the cd in and out.

Please -REP me.
Honestly, please do. I want to see how low I can go!!
Ignore that error message too. Just ignore it and keep going to give me -rep.

Can't be a CD check; it's a download.

It's a serial, that is entered on the start of the first game and it does not require any Internet activation or things like that.

RE: 2009-07 Wednesday 15th, Re-release of the Penumbra Series for Mac & Linux

I just have bought and dowloaded the Penumbra Collection for Linux (yay, thanks for releasing that!). However, I was unable to find any MD5 or SHA1 checksum for the PenumbraCollection-1.0.sh file to confirm a successful download.

Both demos for Overture and Black Plague have the checksums, at least on ausgamers.com, so is it possible to get a checksum for Collection at all? I specifically ask this because at 596MB my download stalled and I had to pause and resume it (it finished eventually), but I am unsure whether it's okay or not.

I've found a solution on my own. Cool I inspected the file in question and it's a shell script (obvious judging by extension) which can be run with --check option:

./PenumbraCollection-1.0.sh --check

In the end the downloaded archive integrity test turned out to be successful. Big Grin:
