black plague stuck big time

I'm in the dream sequence, got through the first 3 puzzles and up to where Red is lying. Turned the wheel there, went back down the ladder...I see no floating platforms! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. If no answer, anybody got a saved game? I GOTTA fiinish this game!!!! Plus another thing...when you finish the computer stuff and go back into the safe room, exit and go down the ladder....you're supposed to go to the drainage area and turn the wheel there. Well when I get there it doesn't give me time to turn the wheel, it just goes into the dream sequence. I got this from a Youtube walkthrough which is great. It's the only way I've gotten as far as I have.

Use the lever in the ceiling.
