Missing item in game, what should I do?

I'm playing Penumbra Overture and am now stuck.

Previously I've been room where the dirt digger is. (I think it is in the Auxillary Mine.) I had plugged the power cable into each end (where it is supposed to be) but then, for other reasons, I reverted to an earlier save point and now when I enter the room there is no power cable to plug in! I've attempted to revert to even earlier save points but to no avail.

What should I do?

Oh, I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 x64.

Is it normal for the tech support forum to not respond to issues? I posted this thread almost 24 hours ago and no one has helped.

Sounds very odd, only solution I can think of is to revert to a save from before the first time you entered the level with the cable. Or if someone has a saved game from this level that works to share.

Yea, you definitely have to revert to an earlier save. I may have a save close to where you are, but I'd have to check...
