I haven't died yet, I've made it all the way to almost out for he northern block. I'm hiding in a cell, and a monster is breaking down the door. I accidentally knocked over a bucket and he heard. Oh god what do I do?

Either let the monster come to you and run around him then hide, or throw something to get it to run in another direction.
