How to get to the workshop?

I've got the code which is (see the spoiler below) but when i enter it it won't work. Do i need to get power up or something, if so, where?

Spoiler below!
At the end of the piece of paper it should say something like "Red is feeling BACKWARDS today". So instead of Two-one-four-eight try Eight-four-one-two.
