			| A second 'level' of a room?

I am wanting to add a second 'level' to my current giant dining room, so that there is a little bit that overlooks the dining area that you can access via stairs in the same room. But for the life of me a cant figure out how to door the floor for this second level.
A plane is far too thin for the upstairs bit.. And I dont know what I could use to make this look like a real second story

Use two planes, one facing upwards and one facing down spaced at how thick you want the floor to be, then use welder objects or more planes on the edges.
