hello there
i read throud the forum threads and tried several "solutions" but nothing worked for me, so here is my thread. excuse my bad english, im german.
i had a really annoying time with amnesia since i could not play one time although its quite a time now with me. im a big fan of penumbra, which makes it worse.
i installed it with no problems, i started, did press new game and was listening to the intro. in mid of the intro it did crash. i recognized that i really need 2 gb of ram, 1,5 is not enough
so i went to buy new ram.
but now the intro stotters, i hear clearly "cant be forgotten, must hurry.."
but the (german) subtitle follows first when the new sentencepart is spoken.
after 3 of this sentences the game freezes with black screen, everytime again.
no problem with starting it, can enter the main menu with constant 40 frames, choose my profile, start a new game and then always the avove written happens.
i already did:
reinstall
reinstalled new system drivers (mainboard, omega/catalyst 10.2/11.5,...)
installed the 1.2 patch
modified the graphic settings
my system
amd x2 3800
ati 1800xt 512mb
3 gb ram
win xp mce
i hope there might be a another idea for me..
