RE: What was the last Film you watched? - CarnivorousJelly - 02-13-2013 Last "film" (saying this lightly because it's a TV series) I watched was Sherlock (BBC version). All 6 existing episodes, to talking to 9 hours of serious awesomeness. Maybe it's just that I really enjoy Steve Moffat's style but I thought the plots stayed interesting and relevant despite the modern-day settings. It might make you cry - then again, I cry fairly easily. There's a bit of morbid humor, but the jokes don't feel forced. Any comedy comes from actions that fit with character development or comments that don't seem out of place. The fandom following Sherlock can be a little odd at times, but that shouldn't (and usually doesn't) ruin the series. Definitely something to watch unless you have a strong attatchment to the serious version of Moriarty portayed in the movies with RD Jr RE: What was the last Film you watched? - Danny Boy - 02-13-2013 (02-12-2013, 01:28 PM)Robosprog Wrote:(02-09-2013, 04:29 PM)Danny Boy Wrote: Well Since we are on to series as well now.... I saw the 2 seasons of the highly famous and loved by many "Game of Thrones".Completely disagree, the "porn" is there to emphasize the characters and especially Tyrion's womanizer traits, and how this makes them weak whilst Cersei, manipulates this, it's a massive story of political intrigue and because of the scenes of sex people instantly think that's the main focus, whilst if you watch it you will see the depth and complexity to the plot and how 3d the characters are. GoT's characters are by far the best in fantasy, and it's a shame most people don't like the show because of the sex. I bet that black vaginal fart that the red headed magician gave to spawn a smoke monster to conveniently kill that gay prince that was tied to the plot somehow. Was in fact very tree dimensional. Oh wait. I think that in writing its actually defined as a "deus ex machina" aka poling shit out of your ass to conveniently solve something in the plot. All I have to say about the series is. Its an interesting series yes. It has very interesting concepts such as the "Wall" and the "white walkers"(?) I believe thats what they're called... The only problem I have whit the series is that it puts too much crap in the middle of it. But honestly I'm not really in the mood to discuss this as I have only seen the series like 4/5 months ago or something. I don't even know. So I can't really discuss about something when I honestly don't really remember all of its details. RE: What was the last Film you watched? - Macgyverthehero - 02-13-2013 I saw Rush Hour 2 again. Had a big laugh! RE: What was the last Film you watched? - PutraenusAlivius - 02-13-2013 Stay Alive (2006). I just pissed my pants! Well, not on TV. I bought the CD! Yeah, great series. I enjoyed every second of watching it. It's certanly a fresh breath to the Sherlock Holmes universe as this takes place in modern London. I'm looking forward to the next season since the last one ended as it did ^^ RE: What was the last Film you watched? - Danny Boy - 02-16-2013 I'm currently watching the "Battleship Galactica" series. And It has been a delight! I absolutely love the setting of the story! (Their "homeworlds" nuked by their own machines, Only a handful of ships transporting humanity's last people. The character's realistic reaction to the daily stress and fear exposure! the paranoia caused by the fact some of the machines look exactly like humans, and obviously the occasional space battles!) I love it! Though the only thing that bothers me a bit is that the story at the point where I am in (season two out of four) the story focuses too much on the military aspect of the story. I personally would like to see how the civilians react to the whole situation as well. The other however its how much it advertises religion in it. Its not like its taking inspiration from biblical events or mythological ones. Instead its makes them as simply the truth. (There are two main religions in the story the "Christian" one and the "Greek mythology" one and oddly enough the story suggests the "Christian" god is the only true one, even though most of the time the "Greek" religion is proven right as well and ends up in a messy fiasco that its hard to understand what the writers had in mind while making the story of this.) But I personally can ignore this issues because the overall experience this series is providing me whit its still rather positive and I recommend it to anyone who has the boners for sci fis!
