RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - TheBlastPassage - 01-12-2013 Try re-installing Steam. Please note that this is most likely a Steam related error but I will definitely help you as much as I can RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - Your Computer - 01-12-2013 Restart the computer and try again. RE: Help? I hadn't tried that yet. RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - TheBlastPassage - 01-12-2013 You might want to back up your 'Steamapps' folder found in either: C:/Program Files/Steam (32-BIT) OR if you have this folder: C:/Program Files(x86)/Steam That way you don't have to re-download all of your Steam games RE: Help? RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - Prelauncher - 01-13-2013 I've gotten the message a few times from steam that the application is already running and I therefore can't start some game. Try opening the Taskmanager (if that's its english name ^^), go to processes and turn off steam from there and then start it again. RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - RawkBandMan - 01-13-2013 Also make sure that gameoverlay.exe (can't remember the exact name) in the processes is not there, and if it is, end the process. I've had to do that a couple of times to get some games to work. RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - TeamMedic - 01-16-2013 Still doesn't work. and even worse, after that steam uninstall and re-install, I lost Half Life. It's in my library, but I can't launch it anymore. This Amnesia game is a curse for me... >.> RE: Help? I will be thankful :) - TheBlastPassage - 01-16-2013 Try launching Amnesia directly from the install directory. Right-click on the game in Steam library. Then click 'properties', then go to 'Local Files' tab and click 'Browse Local Files' and if not already, go into folder called 'redist' and start Launcher.exe (most likely will just appear as 'Launcher') |
