Hmm... this is strange...

Quick question:
If you have post effects turned off, does displaying text still make the wall show?

Yes, the wall still shows.

Could you take screens of the error when noice filter is off?

RE: Graphics errors - first scene - efin - 03-20-2007

I'll do better than that:

CLICK ME

I don't think screens would have effectively conveyed what's going on.

Hmm.... these errors are so strange, I have a hard time figuring out anything that might cause them. How does Doom 3 work on your computer (with vista)? Have you played any other OpenGL games?

Seems like there is a new version of the ATI drivers available, please check if that helps:

Have you tried running the game using Windows XP compatibility (by right clicking and going to properties)?

I experience the same problems with my Vista 32-bit and Radeon 9800XT.
Installing new 7.3 drivers hadn't help. Funny, but "compatibility mode" seem to solve problems with disappearing objects (lamp chain, wall, etc.), but graphics stay really awful and Penumbra still freezes after pressing escape button.

I checked last summer's techdemo and it gave me all the bugs "Overture" has shown: object problems, really bad textures and lighting, freezing (although I remember myself playing it on XP without any simple glitch).
