I agree, the only video games I seem to like these days are the ones that are not mainstream. Like indie games for example.

There is one mainstream game I want to get next year, which is Aliens: Colonial Marines.

I don't know what happened to games these days. It is not often I find a game interesting these days, unless it is an indie game.

Mr. Mac... I don't want to offend you... But what you just wrote deserves to be heard on Microsoft Sam voice.

Uhh... I don't find what you just said offensive. Am I not getting the offence here?

I was just reminded while playing the first, the Jet Set Radio series. I played Jet Set Radio Future on Xbox, but my firend got me the first remake for Steam (I THINK it's the HD remake, I'm not sure) and I'm jamming to it right now. Love these games <3

Personally, I really enjoyed the PS1 and SNES eras of gaming. If I were to create a top 5 list of "old" games it would probably be:

5. Silent Hill
4. Final Fantasy VI
3. Silent Hill 2
2. Final Fantasy V
1. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

For some reason most modern AAA releases don't interest me. I don't think they are bad games, but many of them just feel too familiar and perhaps a bit derivative. Big studios stick to winning formulas more often than not, and that's not a bad thing, but I just find myself drawn to non-AAA games mostly.

But strangely, when I revisit an older game, I find myself still amazed at how fresh some of the gameplay is.

- Gothic
- Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine
- World Racing
- Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed
- Need For Speed: High Stakes (& previous)

I never play shooters in principle. Shooters are breaking EVERY kind of gamedesign ideology.
Because they are made for fun. A totally no-go of intellectual game development. I think, we should stop thinking a game is made for fun, the true goal of a decent game is the whole earnestly experience filled with sad emotions which let you think about yourself, about good and evil, and that you need a big brain to understand logics.

Not an action kaboom superhero crap for mainstream casuals.

Most of these are for ps1 and ps2 and I get an awesome nostalgia feeling from them Big Grin

- Crash bandicoot 2: Cortex strikes back
- Crash bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex
- Spyro: Ripto's rage
- Gex (Not enter the gecko)
- Scooby doo and the cyber chase
- Spider-man (ps1)
- Rayman (ps1)
- Rayman 3: Hoodlum havoc (an awesome game)
- 007: Golden eye (n64)
- Prince of persia series. I can't express how much I loved and love these games. The second one (warrior within was ok, but he first one (Sands of time) and the third one(The two thrones) was the best imo. "Prince of persia" and "Prince of Persia the forgotten sands" are ok.
