Further instructions in how to use it is found in the manual, in the main site. Or look up the readme.
edit:note that im using a windows xp. this may or may not be the problem.

No, it should work just when you install/extract the game.
Or set console = to true in the cfg file. You can founf it in the \unbirth_test\misc folder

edit:also can you tell me witch folder to go into out of these four when i enter misc
theres a folder called keyboard. a aplication thing called text.atl. and these things called default and debug witch one do i go into?
edit:i managed to get in to the config file by opening it with notepad only to find out that the console was already set to true when i got there! so only one question remains why wont the console come up when i press ~!

Oh, so that's the case. Sorry but you cannot open the console if you have not started the game first.
Do you have the latest Direct x 9? Maybe that's the problem?

You better contact the developer, but i doubt they can help you out much more than i did. Since they are not developing this game anymore. And they would have answering this question from the very start if they'd know how to fix this problem.

Why do you use directx in this project and not opengl ? :o
