"Your card does not support vertex shaders" crash

Yeah, whenever i try to enter the game, the screen turns black for a sec, and then that error appears, i am sure i have the latest drivers, heck even all nvidias fancy programs say, that they can't find any driver more up to date than the ones i have installed. I have also tried unistalling the game, same thing.

My specs are

Pentium 4 3.2
2GB ram
Nvidia 8800GTX


Please help, i want to play this awesome game.

Go to My Documents\Penumbra Overture\Episode1

and change the following parameters in settings.cfg

<Graphics NoiseFilter="false" Bloom="false" MotionBlur="false" MotionBlurAmount="0.150000" DepthOfField="false" TextureSizeLevel="2" TextureFilter="1" TextureAnisotropy="1.000000" Gamma="1.000000" FSAA="0" PostEffects="false" ShaderQuality="-1" LimitFPS="true" Shadows="0" />

Everything will look like shit, but you'll be able to start the game probably and then you can muck about and try to fix it.

unless I'm mistaken, I think he is telling you to edit those in notepad. go in notepad, and open up the setttings.cfg file, and change the settings to what he put. if he has false someone, change it to that from true.
I think notepad can open up a cfg file. I don't use windows anymore so I can't test it out, sorry.
