RE: Amnesia - Welcome to Rapture? - unfinished-
Draiter, to say that you must be new to game development because everyone knows that copyrighting can become a problem. If he isn't certain of that he shouldn't ever use that content without permission. By doing it, not only will he remove any possibility of using this mod in his curriculum as well as he will be commiting a crime. Certain things are not as simple as they look from the outside. I appreciate his effort, and it would BE awesome if he could build up such an idea... but without using copyrighted content.

Also, if you are interested in the development of such game, I highly advise you to look at UDK.

For my part, this seems like an awesome Custom Story and I would love to play it.

The lighting is easy toe xplain if he uses Bioshock models. UDK has a unique shader, and by such, unique normal/depth/specular... maps.

Yes, Penumbra is open source, but AFAIK the models are not included in that package, which technically makes stories with ripped Penumbra models illegal. Very true that. *nod*

Yes, but you MUST remember that Tanshaydar's use of them(I think he was the first user(at least intensively)) had FG's permission. FG authorized the use of these models, so there's nothing else to discuss on that.
