Either I'm missing the joke or... why not just an actual oil lamp/lantern? With a design similar to overall Amnesia style (in conceptual aspects)?

They are very dangerous for one thing. Frictional probably doesn't want to get sued for some idiot burning his house down, or making an Amnesia home movie in his basement and getting carbon monoxide poisoning.

One wouldn't expect them to make working ones, at most using a lamp and batteries.
