2012 ¿End of the world?

I don't really worry about the end of the world thing.
I am highly skeptical that it's true in the slightest. However, if it is, I can't do a thing about it.
So, meh. Why worry? I'll be here, in front of my computer, to my dying breath.

realistically speaking, its very very unlikely to have something catastrophic, on a worldwide scale, happen, without us knowing even the slightest amount about it. i am skeptical, but it might happen. yellowstone is about to go, and if it does, it might also trigger the san andreas vault, etc etc. there are alot of factors to consider. i wont go on ranting about this.

on another note, i remember seeing a show on NatGeo a few years ago. 6 years ago to be roughly precise. it spoke of a meteorite approaching earth, inbound to strike near the end of 2012. there was a 50-50% chance of it either striking, or getting slingshot back out into the cosmos. id rather not know, to be honest. id rather die in ignorance rather than knowing for 2 years that my life, and the rest of civilization as we know it, would pass.

I don't believe the world will ever "End".

Even if the world does end, it won't technically "End" It will just change.

I read that a large number of followers have decided to push back the date of the end of the world because someone magically realized that there was in error in converting the Mayan calender over to the present calendars or something. What's funny is that they just now realize this, after all these years of being absolutely positive that it'd take place in December 2012. So the new release date end of the world date will be way after 2012.

The end of the maya calendar doesn't mean that it's the end o the world.
They found a further maya calendar and there is nothing about an end.

What we see this year is a galactic phenomen what happens all 28'000 years.
The sun will be placed in the middle of our galaxy. I think we will have some gravitation problems or other natural catastrophes. It's also possible that magnetic shines of the sun will get to the earth.

The 21th of december 2012 will be the first time, that the humanity will notice that phenomen since they scribe history books.

It's just a galactical phenomen, but not the end o the world.
I think, the end of the world (earth) will be in some milliards (billions in english) years when the sun will become to a supernova and die.

Oh, I think you understand it wrong. Sorry for that obscurity (my english is bad).
Of course, the sun never will be placed physically in the middle of the galaxy, but optical.
When you look at the sun from earth, you will look at the centrum of our galaxy.
