I played it for ~40 minutes and was mostly uninterested. I'm not expecting much out of a game whose intro video is a screamer.
The immediate beginning was stupid, with a bunch of tiny jump scares. After what I assume was the token opening foreshadowing dream sequence there was actually some nice buildup with only a few poor scares that made me chuckle. Along the way I picked up some clues that the story is probably about a dead little girl. Then I walked in circles for about ten minutes because I think I broke a scripted event or something.

Ah well, it's not like everyone likes everything, right? A tip, you can always shut off the into video with -novid if you don't like it.
I'm only around half way through, and so far, I quite like it. The main character looks pretty badass, and the best part is he has the same voice as Simon from Cry of Fear, whose voice I LOVE. The scares, once you get a while through the game, are actually quite good, although some are predictable. The new weapons are well made, although the pistol seems under-powered.

 My 2 cents.

I've come to learn to not fear the living, nor the dead... But the monsters that hide in closets.

Decided to play this. And it isn't so bad after all. The damage you take from enemies is really high, and that practically made it a bit frustrating. Died like 17+ times in a certain zone. But I switched tactics and now I recently beat the game. Stats aren't THAT good, but for first time playthrough, they were nice.
And should I mention that I got scared several times?

I played more of it and actually got to the monster encounters.
Yeah, it's the same exact Cry of Fear shit, this time with a little better presentation. It's just another dumb FPS in dark corridors. Enemies jumpscare/screamer out of somewhere you can't see and you backpedal and spam mouse1 until they die. They're completely brainless which is odd because they have light telekinetic abilities that allow them to strike you with their weapons from about a meter away.

The lead "voice actor" is the same one who played the protagonist of Cry of Fear, and somehow whoever wrote the script managed to actually make his lines even worse.

Also, got stuck again in another vent-finding maze. The level design is not only drab, but actually terribly careless.

All Source horror mods are jumpscare mods because Source modders don't know how to make real horror.

When my internet stops bugging, I may try it out anyways. Even if it's a shitty jumpscare mod, at least I can learn why it's bad.

Whilst it might be called a ''shitty jumpscare mod'' for source standards please do keep in mind that it's nowhere near the jumpscare crapfests that are seen around here ever so often.

That's true. You don't see flying bodies come at you with a scream playing in Source mods (though I've seen similar). For instance, take Cry of Fear(?), where a head pops out at you screaming. That's almost as bad as a flying jesus.
