RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion
Anyone remember "Neil Oswald" in Penumbra?
Is this the reason why they named the protagonist of AMFP Oswald?

Is this the reason why they named the protagonist of AMFP Oswald? Maybe. Maybe not. Only the devs know.

Is this the reason why they named the protagonist of AMFP Oswald? From what I've heard, the name Oswald Mandus is a play on the poem Ozymandias. I haven't read it itself, and have yet to see what connections it might make.

RE: AAMFP - lantern or flashlight?
I'd actually like to see a flashlight of some sort.
What I do like about the lantern is that it actually shows an arm holding it, so if they could perhaps incorporate that with a flashlight, that would be neat.

RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion
Ozymandias is a poem about a great Pharaoh (Ramses II) who once ruled, and whose power seemed without limit. The irony of the poem is that all that remains of his great empire now is a crumbling, broken statue in the wasted desert.
Just throwing that out there. Oswald Mandus just came back from Mexico, right? There's desert in Mexico, and we still don't know much about the character. A possible link there, then.

RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion
Also, as Mandus is head of a powerful industrial tycoon, I can see how that may connect to the Pharaoh's power over others. I'm guessing AMFP start's where Oswald's 'empire' is crumbling.
