The Choir scared me the most when I first played through it I was like woah woah woah! This Sh#t is Scary. I couldn't see anything and when the Brute appeared I was so scared I just wanted to get everything and get out before one of those things had my blood on it's huge blade Sad

My brother and I played the game together and one night he entered the prison level, once he got through the door and heard the Brute killing a prisoner he said to me you can play now. Before that I didn't play any of Amnesia so the prison has always been the most terrifying area for me. I literally kept the player looking at the ground because I didn't want to see the monsters.

Agreed. Archives felt wrong on so many levels. The music (I've sped it up in Audacity and it's basically a bunch of dogs/wolves howling) and Brute's whining made it what it is.

Hey, someone else has Archives on their list too! That was definitely one of the worst places for me. All the new, eerie sounds echoing in the hallways, a sudden groan around the corner, moaning just behind the door beside you... All that made me extremely stressed. And since there hadn't appeared any monsters before in the game before, I was absolutely convinced that this would finally be it, any second now something would spawn and begin to chase me.
The first time I was really afraid to move even an inch was in the Archives.
