So it's been talked about a bit by the moderators here, and we decided we'd create a petition for a subforum based around Amnesia (and possibly Penumbra) fan-based material. Currently, we only have a
General Discussion board that is open to fan-material, but there are so many subsections of fanwork that would otherwise clutter the
General Discussion, such as art, songs, cosplay, gameplay, parodies, etc... Which forces us Mods to close many threads and merge everything into one to keep it uncluttered, and honestly, I don't like doing that. It's restrictive to members who want to show off what they made or do, and I feel having to close and organize these threads is a negative impact against the fans. So to fix this, we felt a fanbase subforum would not only bring in some fans to show off their stuff, but would keep the forums more organized, sociable, and leave a positive impact rather than negative. So here's what we'd be looking forward to having:
Fanbase Sub-Forum
- MAIN SECTION: The section under the "Amnesia: TDD Fanbase Forum". This will include all things that do not fit the sections described below, a "General Discussion" if you will. This will fit parody videos and perhaps gameplay clips (Such as the famous "Amnesia WTF!?"), possible fanfics, and other things related to Amnesia that do not fit the other criteria.
- LET'S PLAY SECTION: This section of the sub-forum would be as it states. It is for let's plays and gameplay creators to create their own threads and discuss with members. This opens up social behavior and interaction between the author and his/her audience. We would no longer have to restrict them to a single thread where interaction is slim-to-zero. To find new players, and help the players find you!
- ART SECTION: This section is for fanart made digitally and traditionally, songs, and possible cosplays. Pretty simple explanation and usage.
Post your vote in the polls above and leave a response saying something like "I AM FOR THIS PETITION!" The more votes we get, the better. Also, feel free to give any further ideas/revisions. Once we feel enough attention is being drawn to it, we will forward it to Frictional in hopes that it could be made soon!
Thanks everyone!
