So I recently played the Penumbra Tech Demo (aka Penumbra 1.1) which can be found here. It is from 2006 and it is really clunky, but hey it was a tech. demo. Having played all the Penumbra games before and Amnesia too I just wanted to play it from start to finish.
Anyway my question is what exactly happened at the end when you use your card and enter the code? you go into a small room that has blood splattered and a red light. I heard a glass break and it seemed like someone or something hit you on the head. At first I thought you were in the elevator (recall the garage area), but due to the map layout that wouldn't make any sense.
At the end you use a card and then a password to enter the final door and then you go into the room (described above). However on one of the notes it tells you that door leads from "level 1 to level 2".
If you're confused I suggest that you play it. It takes about and hour or two at max and even less with a guide.
I know that this was just a tech. demo and the story wasn't meant to be too in-depth, but I am curious. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm aware of that. However I was just wondering what someone else thinks happened . Like do you plutomaniac think that the player died or do you think the player escaped? or what was that red room at the perhaps it was the elevator? however recall what I said here:

Of course we could just say nothing happens, but I'm talking storywise what do you think the writers thought[/wanted to] happened? were they implying you died or that you made it to the elevator (you escape)?
The story behind is the Penumbra one, just in a very early stage. The beginning/intro is almost identical. The original version must have had more levels (Level 2) in which the hunter could also be found. But probably all thee were cut off to meet a certain delivery deadline etc.

That's correct. That's why hunter is messed up(animations).

Wait a moment... this brings up even more questions...
1) Who or what is the "Hunter"?
2) If it is indeed a early version of the Penumbra game then where is red at? why is it that we hear about some guy going to look for his brother?!
3) Why is it at the end you go into some room to die?
Assuming it was a tech demo to show off the engine, they probably changed a lot of things before starting Overture. I don't think they consider the tech demo part of the actual story, though it may bring up speculation.
