I think it was Alias that posted Amazing Athiests video where he was making fun of how dumb young christians against gay marriage were. Biggots or something, can't be bothered to find it. Coulda been Kman, I don't really remember.

But anyways, I loved that video of his. So I checked out some other videos of his. His porn topic video was very accurate too. Then I came across his rant about being banned from McDonalds... *facepalm*

I really don't understand why people have to do that though, can't they just mind their own bussines ? Not just talking about atheists, same goes for religious people. But let's face it, atheists are a lot more "noisy" about this matter these days. For example if there's a sad video where people died and if there's a comment "My prayers go out to their families, God bless" it is mostly likely completely thumbed down, while the comment replying to it "omg fuckn retard god dosnt exist!11" has thumbs up.

I also have a "friend" irl which keeps complaining about how religious people shove down their beliefs. I asked him, when was the last time someone told him to "accept Jesus", he just stood there quiet. Few days later he got the idea of doing a graffiti over a church wall with some random crap. Hypocrit.

Opposing religion is no better than opposing atheism, and as a atheist you may think like "yeah but atheism is the truth, atheist is the right way, blah blah" Well guess what, religious people think the same way, and as long as you can't completely disapprove the existence of God with enough proof, you are not on the winning side. Not atheism, not Religion.

I'm not going to go into the depths about why God should be real or why atheism doesn't have enough proof or shit like that because that's not the point of my post and it's completely and utterly pointless to discuss things like that.

Anyway, what i meant here was: It shouldn't concern you about what people believe in, its their problem, not yours. So why stick your nose in other people's lives and critisize them ?

If someone believes in something no matter how ridiculous it is to others. As long as it produces kind people, doesn't hurt anyone or cut people's rights or freedoms... Thats their business! So there is no need to intervene.

(Though DogFood you say Atheists are a lot nosier n stuff. Thats not true. You only notice that more because you are in the "opposing side"... I personally notice a lot more religious bigots because as an atheist I am more sensitive on noticing idiocy on the other side. Its merely a psychological thing.)

I'll leave you to decide exactly is to be gained from being a militant atheist, but it seems you neglected to notice the subtle distinction I made between belief and religion. Personally, I almost never concern myself with God debates for the reason you mentioned - it isn't my place to question other people's beliefs. However, organized religion has been and still is to this day an instrument of boundless evil with no redeeming factors. It has been used to mislead, divide and kill people ever since it was first created and it deserves to be harshly criticized and optimally abolished.

To be honest I see the world as an old lady. We are currently living oppressed by corrupt governments who are taking advantage of the current economic crisis for their malicious politics. Religion, even though I also think its something that we need to eventually cast out as a whole. its is still a source of hope for lots of people who live miserably... so why take their hope away as well?... A bit a hope on a dark time isn't exactly the worst dogmatic thoughts have given to us as a species.
