I think that was just stated in general, I don't think the next game will SF just based on that.

Why not? Sci-fi themed horror game sounds good.

Was just about to say the same thing!

It still seems to me like a Lovecraftian setting, which should also please you because there are many SF elements, but those aren't the main points.

Anyone else notice those spider-looking things in the bottom right? We know FG always wanted to implement spiders in their games, with those assets in the TDD files that hint at spiders originally being in the game but were later dropped. Maybe they finally have the experience and proficiency to use them effectively.

Spiders were used a lot at Penumbra. They just converted them to work for Amnesia in case they used them in Amnesia. That does not make them important in any way though.

Well regardless, they weren't used well in penumbra, which is probably why they weren't in Amnesia. I just thought it was interesting spiders seem to appear in the first real concept picture for their new game.

I hadn't noticed those before, well-spotted! They look massive (in relation to the size of the door, at least).

Do we know who the concept artist is on this?

That's subjective. Penumbra was in a mining facility with lots of rocks and stuff. Spiders were not really a surprise. They might have been tough if their number was high but I wouldn't consider them badly-used. Either way, I hope it's not about spiders again. Sci-fi and horror should be quite interesting. Also, 4 years after Amnesia and money. It will be good.

I didn't say the opossite, of course it sounds good, but it's better not to jump to conclusions based on vague hints, which probably aren't hints to start with. One thing we can pretty much be sure about is that the new game will have a Lovercraftian flavour just like Amnesia and Penumbra.
