Failed to load config file

Hi ive have trouble to play amnesia i bought it through steam when i bought it i played for a couple of hours when the game suddenly freezed i exit the game the task manger when i tried to start it again the game crashed and i got a text that said failed to load confing file i try to reinstall it but it still wont start i hope that you guys could help me

Can you upload your HPL Log file here? It must be in "Documents/Amnesia/Pig/" named "hpl.log".

I had the same prob. I reinstalled the game twice, repaired it 4 times and restarted the pc twice. unplugged USB, cameras, extra mouse, headset etc.
I figuered out how to fix the error: failed to load config file!
go to the location C:\Users\User\Documents\Amnesia\Pig and delete all files and start the game.
It worked perfectly for me and the files got replaced after the game was running with correcting new ones.
Finally I can play the game I´ve been waiting for so long!
