				I'm thinking the game, just from the trailer, and these images, will deal with partial mind-control which makes the characters feel like they're acting of their own free will, but are actually being subconsciously by the aliens, or whatever, and maybe even hallucinating. 
 
EDIT: Or maybe something like that Brain in a Vat business where a person believes he is still functioning normally in the story, but has actually already been de-brain-afied resulting in him seeing not so stupendous imagery.

It looks as if those things are the robots, we can see them throughout the area and the character seems to be scared of the ones on the ceiling. The spider monster we see has that light on it I think

Yeah man, I now see it looks like a spider. I always like to have spiders in games. Because spiders have fantastic animations, they are real existing animals and scary (if they are designed right). Thomas also said he gladly wants to make a realistic spider animation. Hope that there are spiders in SOMA. Some kind of robot spiders with iron arms. And this could also be a good solution to avoid killing. Instead to kill you, a spider should just lame you and then wrap into a cobweb like in LIMBO. Then you have to wake up in an unknown nest where you have to come free, instead to get killed and simply load a savegame. This wouldn't rip you out of the game and makes a believable, more immersive sense. You also would have more fear to get attacked by a spider, because it's not just die and then re-load, it's a harder procedure to get free then without to break the game.
