I personally started watching anime summer 2012. My first anime was Toradora!.
It might not be the best anime ever, but it's still on my top 5 fauvorites. It's the most mermorable animes i've ever watched.
I have seen that too and I would say that it's definately worth watching :] The intro is super catchy!

Yes, they tend to be 'almost the same' (some differences) for the first ~ 13 episodes.. After that they deviate fully

I recommend not to watch it. Seriously, it's so bad it's traumatizing.
A common thing I keep seeing in reviews about that is that the main character is a dickwad twat.

He's okay at the beginning but turns to cunt at the middle.
God, there's never been such a person i wanted to punch right to the face so hard.
To be honest, even though the show was excellent, i think i won't be rewatching it anytime soon. simply too dark,
it gave me jaw dropping and breathaking moments, but it lacked the bright enjoyability. It didn't let me such a good taste in mouth in the end.
