The demo (or the full game) wont start, i just get an error message? Intel Chipsets

I downloaded the demo earlyer today, when i went to play it the screen goes black for a moment then goes back to the desktop and an error message pops up saying
"FATAL ERROR: Renderer #0 could not be initialized! Check hpl.log for more information."

I know I have the newest drivers for my graphics card.
I even found the compatibility test in an old post and decided to try that out and got the exact same message when I tried to load it.

Please god dont tell me my computer isnt good enough to run the game...
It ran all three penumbra games perfectly!
I pre-ordered Amnesia MONTHS ago, when the pre-order meter wasnt even half way to getting the added content!
Iv been looking forward to this game for a LONG time, and it will kill me if I dont get to play it!

See if you can find any newer drivers. Unfortunately most Intel cards are not really supported, but you might be lucky!

btw, this is annoying because according to the feature list, it SHOULD run the game.

Check intel's homepage and see what u can find!

Just so you have tested: see if you can run the game at a lower resolution.

I have no idea if this will make any difference, but i tried downloading and playing the demo through steam, the game still wont load, but now a much bigger window appears instead of the error message when I attempt to play the demo I downloaded online.

it comes up with a message saying
"Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module ig4icd32.dll at 001B:04453D92"

and then theres a thing underneath that says
"Stack Trace
001b:04453D92 ig4icd32.dll" and 3 more similar things to that.

also, i have a second computer with a nvidia geforce fx 5200.
i cant test it on that computer until sunday, but when i do hopefully that might have better results?

I am afraid Geforce FX cards are not supported (they lack a needed feature, that is non-trivial to work out a fix for).

There is something wrong with the drivers it seems, Amnesia is an OpenGL game and the drivers can be a bit problematic because of this.

This is most likely fixed if you download the latest drivers from nvidia, uninstall the old driver, reboot computer and then install the new driver. This usually corrects any errors such as those in the log.

I have the latest drivers installed, so that can't be the problem.

Drivers can be corrupt, the reason to do it is to clean the old ones out completely and get a fresh install.

You can also look over the settings, perhaps SLI is activated, even though you only have one card and not using it this can cause troubles. So turn that off if possible. You can also turn off any other settings that are set to be forced if you have and see if that helps.
