Custom Lantern Help!
Just so we get this out of the way...
I DO NOT NEED A CUSTOM MODEL
Now that that's cleared up, I would like some help with this model I made in Blender 2.68a:
This lovely model can be seen in the model editor but not in the model editor's preview mode nor in the level editor. This is a bit worrying to me as the model need to be the custom lantern in the game. The model will be used as the lantern ITEM and the ACTUAL LANTERN.
See what I mean? I have 2 versions of the same model, I just want to know how to make it into an actual pick-able and usable lantern. It does have 1 bone attached to it so animation shouldn't be a problem (unless it is).
If you should know I followed the following threads making the files and the model:
https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...der+export
https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...om+lantern
If ANYONE can help me, because in my IFC this is an essential part, I will give you credit in the credits (unless you specifically request not to) and 1+ you!
I really hope anyone can help me, I am putting alot of effort into this!

RE: Custom Lantern Help!
Do you have a proper .mat file set up? And where are your texture sources located?

RE: Custom Lantern Help!
Seeing as you're setting up a custom lantern, just make sure you have a mod set up and not a custom story. I'm assuming you do, but a lot of people tend to miss that.

RE: Custom Lantern Help!
I guess I can take look -in a minute-
I think your problem is the material you're using in Blender for your textures, you should use lambert for Amnesia. Can you try that?
ModelView.exe crashes instantly so I guess it's when it tries to generate the material file.
content of screwdriver.dae: (You can see there's no lambert material)

According to Blender when I open up the model it already has a lambert material:

Yes I do have a proper .mat file that works. I don't know what you mean for 'sources' but the image texture is in the file I included.

RE: Custom Lantern Help!
Just a question, probably won't fix this, but why is there an armature when I open the model? Also, when I opened the model file, Blender reported a parsing error.
"Veni, vidi, vici."
"I came, I saw, I conquered."

I don't know what you mean about the parsing error but there is one bone in the object used for different animations for the lantern.

RE: Custom Lantern Help!
Okay, I know what I'm doing now. I'm not going to use it as a LANTERN, rather I'm going to use it as a pick-able custom ITEM.
Anybody who knows what type of project I'm doing will maybe know what I'm planning to use the item for!
Thanks for the help though, it means allot!
