Hi,

Been having a frustrating problem with Amnesia DD ever since building a new gaming computer. (it worked fine on the old machine)

experiencing full crash (have to hard reboot computer) when starting the game* This is the Steam client version.

conditions:

1) start Amnesia with main_config file deleted in user profile Game loads to main menu. If any change in resolution is made and one exits game for settings to apply game crashes at Loading screen on next game start with screeching audio blaring through the speakers.

2) If delete main_config file, starts game, get to Main Menu screen, simply choose Start game.....game will load 9 out of 10* (the 10th being a screeching audio and crash at Loading screen) but on exit, crash at loading screen

As it is a full crash there is no record in Event logs other than the unexpected restart of the computer

Troubleshooting steps taken

1) reinstalled game from STEAM several times
2) cleared app data in Steam console and in File Manager
3) disabled 2nd Graphics card
4) swapped from SLI mode to non SLI mode when both GPU's enabled
5) disabled Sound Blaster and enabled Mobo RealTek audio
6) updated video and audio drivers
7) updated from Win7x64 pro to Win10x64 pro
8) messed with advanced video controls turning off advanced features

Thx.

sys specs:

Core i7 5960X
MSI X99S Mobo
2 x NVidia GTX 980
SoundBlaster ZxR Pro
Intel SSD 240GB
WD Black 2TB

Check the troubleshooting guide and post the hpl.log after it crashes.

Hi,

Thx for the response. I actually got the game to load, however once moving in it, when going from one section of the game to another (aka Loading screen) experienced the full crash again with screeching sound. Had to hard reboot as per above. Here is the hpl.log file

There is no clue in the log file. Seems random so possibly a program that is interfering, for example antivirus (troubleshooting guide as a few examples of programs that are known to cause issues). Can also try to run the game as administrator and/or in compatibility mode. Finally possibly that a setting in the graphics control panel is conflicting with a game setting so could try and change the settings in the control panel a bit.
