RE: Amnesia The Dark Descent Demo problem

Well seeing as Radeon X series owners have no problems with any other games, Its more likely something wrong with the Game, not the video cards.

Since the graphics test worked for me, then it's the inventory, menu ingame and journal. It freezes when drawing the GUI. Well, I wait Thomas to test something with a radeon video card..

Anyone having this issue?

Same problems here. I disabled the ImageTrail effect and was able to get past the intro put have the same problems accessing the journal etc... which freezes the game.
P4 3.0ghz
2g ram
XP sp3
radeon x1600
Hopefully this problem will be resolved soon as I have this game pre-ordered.

RE: Amnesia The Dark Descent Demo problem
Yeah I've been experiencing the same problems with my X1950 Pro. I'm surprised how well the game runs on my system once ImageTrail has been disabled though. It's just those damn GUIs.
I once left my computer for about half an hour after pressing the inventory key and the GUI did eventually appear (and it's very pretty for those yet to see it ;-) but it was still unplayable.
I tried using those Omega drivers but despite it fixing the tessellating logos problem before the main menu screen it instantly went into super laggy mode meaning you'd be hard pushed to even get to the main menu.
Thomas said that Amnesia uses quite new OpenGL features that the newest ATI X drivers clearly have trouble with. I'm really hoping they can find a way around it.
