Bug at the change between prison sections

So just a quick run down. I was trying to survive within the prison areas, and I found this hole I'm meant to widen before I can enter. This is where the bug is. I reached that area when I had the stone hammer, but no chipper. I got a message I needed something else (the chipper) when I tried clicking on the hole, so for the fun of it I figured I'd start jumping up and down on the hole, and to my surprise... I fell through!
Looking back up from where I came, I still got the option for the section change. Though I decided to continue moving through that little tunnel, and got out on the other side to see some floor but then eternal darkness. I could also see the tunnel area I had just crawled through.

Sorry I can't get a picture, whenever I take a screen cap and try pasting it in an image editor, it always comes up black these days, for some reason.
