Gameplay Extermely Choppy

I recently downloaded the Amnesia demo as to get a taste for the game before I decided to make a purchase; now, the install went perfectly fine and I got the game running; but I find that the game is too taxing on my CPU; I do not understand this, my computer exceeds the recommended requirements, but I have to turn all my settings to minimum before it will even respond...

Here are my Specs:
System Memory: 2.8 gigs
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 7550 Dual Core Processor
Operating System: Ubuntu 10.04
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 6150 GPU
