Game restarts my pc

Hi

When i load the demo i get to the point where just after the load screen and the game restarts my pc. I do not have this problem with any other game!

I have updated my graphics card & sound card to to the latest drivers. i have also updated the open Gl and directx software as per the troubleshooting guide..

Have managed to get through a couple of times and had no problem playing it. but it mainy wont work!

Dont wanna buy the game until i can get the demo working!

Try running game in adminstrator mode and give Amnesia.exe write permissions.

Also disable Windows Aero

Tried all of the above and unfortuantely it made no difference. Still restarted just after inputting my name at the menu.

Try not changing the name when u create user and try again. Might that some characters that you enter are not okay.

Also check what folders you can see in "My Documents/Amnesia/Main"

Perhaps u set up something strange. Wierd that it crashes after name entering though, the only thing that makes sense to me is some kind of write permission thing.

And oh, before starting, make sure that the "Mark" folder has permissions so that Amnesia can write in it.

I may have mislead you on that.Its almost like it only has so many seconds from loading. It can crash before i select the player, or it can crash loading the menu, or even when the menu is present. The only time it doesnt crash is when i manage to start the game from the menu (continue/load game) which is very rare

I had tried A2 already and Mark has permissions (it has saved games in it)
I have tried using Steam and uninstalling that and installing via another link from the demo website, with no success.

I have also tried compatabilty mode set to XP.

Getting to that point of admitting defeat me thinx :-(

Yep. tried that. went to 1028x768

I orginally tried this game on 10.6. It crashed so i unistalled the drivers and installed 10.8 which is what im on now

I play Bad company 2 every day on max settings for approx 1hr, so i'm guessing its not overheating 10 seconds into Dark Descent.

OpenGL drivers can be strange.

Try going into control panel and make sure everything is set to application controlled.

Also try setting shadows to low and turning off ssao.
