Amnesia doesn't like it when meshes have faces with more than three edges, so there is an option in maya to 'triangulate' this turns all faces with more than three edges into triangles, by cutting them in half/three/four, depending on the size of the polygon. Sorry for not mentioning this earlier. I thought openCollada is set by default to triangulate.
When you click export selected, from the dropdown list go to select filetype, choose openCollada as before. then in the list of options on the right hand side, scroll down to openCollada export options and make sure triangulate is ticked.
Alternatively, you could highlight the whole mesh, click Mesh>triangulate, then export as normal.

I've got one question more (I no it doesn't belong here, but anyway), when you create a custom story and then send it to others, some parts dissapear (like walls and things), is there any way to fix that?
