Solved: 8 Years, 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago Game Freeze

I am having trouble with full game (1.0.679) freezing. Playing nicely then apparently randomly switches to a window mode and freezes. Can't regain control of the mouse and keyboard controls don't seem to work. Only thing I can do is restart X. (yes control-alt-backspace works).
Ubuntu 7.1 (x386), Athlon 4800+ x2,NVidia 7300GS, Nv driver, 2 GB ram,
Any ideas?? More info needed??
