Screen blacks out when moving

Can anyone help? Whilst moving around the game (Black Plague) the screen sometimes goes black and I need to move the cursor elsewhere to see where I am again. For example, whilst walking down the corridor I'll turn a corner (or just turn round generally) and all I can see is the white dot of the cursor, so I turn again and the corridor is back. This happens anywhere in the game, not just in the corridor. It's particularly annoying when a zombie is running after me and I suddenly can't see where I'm going! Please help.
