This - but be warned, this will also mean they fade off behind objects like real light do, and if you mess up the halos can be visible completely through objects.

If you use the yellow light-ray texture (not the no-depth one) that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Although I found a halo size between 1~2 (in all directions) works best to keep them from getting too weird :D
