Game crashes loading 2nd area

So up until I get to the door leading to the 2nd area, everything works fine. Once I open the door and the game starts loading the 2nd area, it sits on the loading screen for a while and always ends up crashing. I checked and went through fixes 1-5 in the Problem F section (gave full permissions to everything that could access the aamfp file, turned off the SSAO, verified the file integrity through Steam, uninstalled and redownloaded the game, etc.), and it still crashes. Here's the info you asked for:

1) Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit
2) Laptop
3) Hpl file was too large to attach.
