Crash in the end

So I had a problem with not getting past the first zone without the game crashing so I lowered the settings to medium(and eventually low after the game crashed past the first area exit) and I would still get crashes every now and then(which seemed to go away by simply re-going through the doors). now I'm stuck at the part where I go up to the city and then I use an elevator to go back to the heart(crash happens then.) no matter what I do it keeps crashing and I can't work around it.

Windows8, 64-bit

I archived the hpl.log file since the max for a text document is 100KB(my hpl.log is roughly 300KB), hope that isn't too much trouble.
