Not all horror games has to be explicit horror though, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream crawls under my skin but it's not explicitly horror like the Frictional Games or Silent Hill. It's a sci-fi thriller with a rather unique premise and a ominous undertone throughout the whole game. Sanitarium is also really good, there's no traditional horror elements in it as it's a point & click game but the atmosphere is enough to get you nervous. For me, a good horror game is one that makes you shiver by thinking about it's subject matter be it in the context of the game or outside. That takes some serious skills. Philosophical horror, if you will.
