screen is black

when i launch the game the main menu was weird
the bottom of the screen is weird, it is all grey and pink and messed up
then when i a new game the screen goes a dark browny cream color. the subtitles still come up and the sound still plays but that is all. when your supposed to stand up at the very start of the game the screen is still brown and the only thing i can see is the cross hair and the hand what appears when it moves over something. the in game menu still comes up.
what do i do. also the black box came u[
