Different gameplay

Hi all, It's probably wishful thinking but would it be possible to make a story with completely different gameplay from amnesia? I've read somewhere about how amnesia used to play more like an rpg with currency and stuff, that sorta thing would be cool.
Or if someone were able to make a full model of a playable character for a 3rd person camera view. What are people's thoughts on this?
