"Could not load main config file" NOT using Steam [SOLVED]

I think I have found the cause of this annoying issue and believe I have a fix for it. Last this week I'll PM you some testing binaries to see if it fixes the issue.

im having this problem too, reckon you could please send me the fix for it too? im in the second last chapter of the game and this is ruining it! i must know what happens with the orbs!
