Solved: 8 Years, 7 Months ago Amnesia Crashing problem

Okay, so my friend bought Amnesia:The dark descent on Steam and gifted it to me. I've NEVER played this and I want to REALLY badly. I got it downloaded no problem but it keeps crashing, here's what happens:

I click the Amnesia Icon on my desktop, "Preparing to Launch Amnesia" window opens from Steam, Launch Menu opens (settings, graphic quality, texture quality, etc etc) I set most stuff to medium and press "Launch Game" The screen goes black for a split second then a window in the top left say "Submitting crash report..." etc. Angry

What can I do to fix this as soon as possible? Huh

Please give thorough instructions please
