Slow game and black screen

Make sure to run the game with low settings, that will have more of an impact than low resolution. As this computer has an unsupported graphics chip, you should avoid things like SSAO completely.

The black screen, set all options to lowest possible (temporary) and restart the game, then load the save from before you pick the note and play through this part and it should work.
