Weekly Challenge Map?

At the moment I'm getting a bit bogged down with my Custom Story and since I'm getting a lot of college work I'm not getting time to spend hours at a time.

So I thought what if I made small challenge maps which had fun little puzzles in them. There would probably be a threat of a monster and a time limit to make it interesting too. The small puzzle would only take about 10 minutes to complete, so I thought it would work well to release a new 10 minute puzzle every week for a month or something.

So do you think this would be a good idea? Also this seemed like a fun thing to do so has anyone done something similar?

Thanks for your opinions. =]

You say that you should do it for a month or so... That would be 4 puzzles. I think it would be better idea if you'd continue doing this for a year.

After a year, you could make a one big Custom Story that includes all 52 puzzles.

However awesome that may sound I don't really want to commit myself to a whole 52 puzzle maps. Perhaps I will try a month or two and see how people react to it. Then I'll commit myself to something bigger. Big Grin

Maybe month by month?
However, doing only 4 puzzles sounds too little. Tongue

But this is my opinion of course.

Yes four puzzles doesn't sound like much at all. Once a fortnight could work well too, plus I could make the puzzles a bit more interesting.

I agree with scrappers first post. As soon as I read this post I thought to myself : This would be really cool to tie together into one big puzzle monstrosity at the end, just be consistent with what monsters are following you, you wouldn't have to worry about the settings or anything, because at the end of making all the different puzzles it would be easy enough to simply make up some hallways, or stairways down (as seperate maps) to connect all the settings together.

RE: Weekly Challenge Map?

Would it be possible to generate a string, which is then pasted into the script file of the next map? In that case it would be possible to save previous solutions of puzzles - giving different outcomes depeding on choices Smile
